The Jury said:
"This film represents true blue-chip natural history filmmaking, an adjective that promises the very highest standard in our field. The filmmakers were able to capture novel and fascinating animal behaviours on camera for the first time, and advance scientific understanding at the same time as offering the viewer unbelievable drama and beauty. Their success at filming moments in the lives of their subject in such a harsh and remote setting, in all seasons, only elevates their achievement further. Ultimately, world class cinematography, skilled editing, and a wonderful original score come together behind a captivating narrative full of vivid character and narrative momentum. This is a unique portrait of a thriving ecosystem, and a species, as far removed from our own world as you can imagine: their resilience leaves us in awe".
